TRAVEL & STAY

TRANSPORTATION

There are two major airports to choose from when traveling to Fort Worth- DFW and DAL. DFW is closer, located just 30 minutes from Downtown Fort Worth. DAL is slightly further, located 45 minutes from Downtown Fort Worth, but a great option for those of you looking to fly Southwest.

ACCOMMODATIONS

We have  reserved blocks of rooms at hotels in the area for our guests. Please find accommodation details below. We recommend booking your room reservation as soon as possible. It is TCU family weekend, so our room blocks are held only if there is hotel availability. The hotels have the right to release unreserved rooms at any time.

The Crescent Hotel, Fort Worth

 *Three night minimum stay

Embassy Suites by Hilton, Downtown Fort Worth

AC Hotel, Downtown Fort Worth

SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Stockyards

EAT

Heim Barbecue- No Fort Worth experience is complete without barbecue! Heim Barbecue is a Fort Worth staple that has amazing "farm to smoker" meats. The father of the bride highly recommends the bacon burnt ends!

Joe T. Garcias- You can't visit Fort Worth without a margarita from the famous Joe T. Garcia's! This cash-only 88 year old restaurant does not take reservations so count on a wait (but you can order margaritas in line, at least!). You will find a stunning Spanish courtyard setting once you're settled.

Lonesome Dove- Mitch's number one recommendation! Lonesome Dove is a Western-themed steakhouse and the epitome of Southern elegance. The menu features unique western dishes like Wagyu Tomahawk Ribeye, Wild Boar, Rabbit, and Rattlesnake.

Press Cafe- Located along the Trinity River, Press Cafe is a casual brunch/lunch spot in an indoor/outdoor atmosphere. It is right by the farmers market every Saturday morning to finish out a lovely Fort Worth morning.

Woodshed- Also along the Trinity River, Woodshed capitalizes on the Texan BBQ vibe and outdoor hang outs.

Tinies- This Southside spot has Latin brunch and dinner. Tinies went from a food truck to a restaurant and has authentic dishes such as the birria tacos, tamales, and hand made empanadas.

DRINK

The Drover- Grab a drink in the lobby or the backyard of the Stockyard's boutique hotel.

Bowie House- The bar at the new Auberge hotel merges Western personality of Texas with a modern feel to capture the spirit of Cowtown.

Basement Bar- The oldest neighborhood bar in Fort Worth and considered the smallest Honky Tonk in the world.

White Elephant- Get a true feel of Fort Worth at this Stockyard saloon. With live music every night of the week, the dance floor will be filled with two-stepping.

Winslow's Wine Cafe- A more low-key and intimate drink option. Winslow's has 33 wines by the glass and a seasonal rotating menu.

HAVE FUN

Billy Bob's- The world's largest Honky Tonk located in the Stockyards. Billy Bob's has live music every night, bull riding, and line dancing.

Pete's Dueling Piano Bar- A four minute walk from The Fort Worth Club, the entertainment bar combines live music, comedy, and audience interaction to create a fun experience.

Trinity Trail and Saturday Farmers Market- Farmers Market is open year around Saturdays from 8 AM to noon on the riverfront of the Trinity Trails at the Trailhead.

Cattle Drive- Every day at 11:30 AM and 4 PM, the cattle drive travels through the Stockyards on East Exchange Avenue in front of the Livestock Exchange Building.
